Radiobrandy operates on a very tight budget when it came time to build a studio that could withstand the riggers of a broadcast workshop. We chose to use cart machines although being phased out of most broadcast operations they are still durable and simple to operate. the cart machine is used predominately in house meaning the tape is not used outside the facility. the fact the cart has for the most part become obsolete played to our advantage what once cost $2500 could now be had for pennies on the dollar. Below is a breakdown of equipment used in studio1

3 BE 1070RP mono record cart machines  new cost $700 in mid 70's now $15-35 on E-bay
Middle
Behringer 2804 mixing console it features 6 stereo and 8 mono slide pots PFL (cue) in addition 4 stereo rotary pots
with PFL a flexable console originally priced around $560 going rate now $200 on E-bay
To the right of the console 3 mono ITC Delta cart machines one equipped with a record amp, The Deltas are excellent cart machine in a compact case excellent sound very close to a CD with a good cart they are very hard to tell apart. The Deltas originally sold for $2100 for a mono playback $2500 for a record unit. We paid $15 for each of the playbacks and $100 for the record. We got a second record unit for $35.

Behringer 602a mixer 2 stereo 1 mono the 602 lacks any cue it's primary used for mixdown and switching studios $70 new
about $40 used Sony MDJ JE 330 is an excellent mini disc player. We would like to add 3 more to this studio however the used prices are pretty high we got this one for $50 off E-bay we have seen them trade for well over $150 lately.

3 Technics SLPG300 CD players we paid $110 apiece back in 1991 we just bought another one on E-bay for $35
The cart machines alone would have cost us $8400 alone.
